The highlights of a delightful holiday in Ohrid in late May were our two excursions with Freepass who were based outside our hotel, the Villa Sveta Sofija. We crossed the full length of the lake in a small motor boat to the enchanting Monastery of St Naum and the springs of the Black Drim River and on the other day we climbed a mountain in the Galichica National Park to gain panoramic views of Lake Ohrid and Prespa Lake. Led by Ivana on both occasions we felt we were with a knowledgeable local family friend than a tour guide. The personal informal approach allowed us to learn, share and appreciate so much more about Ohrid and Macedonia than if we had been on a more impersonal larger tour. Jasna and Ivana guided my and some friends from Austria for a 2 weeks hike through the western part of Macedonia. We visited the National Parks, experienced a great nature, fascinating landscapes and very friendly people. We had the chance to taste a lot of tasty traditional food and drinks and Jasna and Ivana a really professional guides. Couldn't begin to say how wonderful the Free Pass team is. They've turned our trip into a dream thanks to their experience and tailored offers. We did 2 tours with the sisters. That ended up being private (me. Partner. Guide and driver in 1 car). Turned out the highpoint of our vacation. 1 tour of small villages and mountain churches. Which was arranged at the last minute. And the other to Tikves winery and an amazing dinner attached in the winery cellar.
